Purple Ice and UV lights

I was wondering if a mixture of Distilled Water and Purple Ice (90/10) will glow purple with UV cold cathodes? Or do I still need to purchase some UV dye? If so, you think red would work? I can't seem to find purple dye... Thanks
 
What 2 colors mixed make purple ????? Google color wheel and lok at it should show the colors you need to make purple.
 
Blue and Red, I was hoping I wouldn't have to buy dye. My $200 dollar WC setup has already blew its budget and is at $270. Still need dye, clamps, and holesaws...
 
The best Dye I have seen are THESE The bright orange is actually sort of hot pink if you put a drop of it with a drop of the brilliant blue it will prob. come out sort of purple.

I am the one that did the review of the yellow UV dye on there and about a week after I wrote it the dye broke down and turned my water a murky orangish-brown and stained my tubing. I drained/cleaned out everything and installed new tubing and re-filled the system with a smidge of the dye and it did it again. Next time, I shall avoid adding their dye to the coolant mix.
 
I'll wait on the dye then, I was looking at cool-cases but they don't have red anyways.

I put somebody's green UV dye in mine. Think it came from FrozenCPU.com. After a few months it stained my tubes a reddish color. It might be because I put too much in there. You should try that purple ice and give us a report.
 
I finally got everything up and running. The Purple Ice pretty much dilluted when it was mixed with distilled water. I used about 6 oz of it to try and get some kind of color but nothing. It did foam up (tubes where solid white) when I added it and I thought I was screwed. But I let it run overnight with the fillport top off and all of the foam disappeared.

I do have alot of excess tubing since my rad is mounted to my sidepanel. I have no real idea the mixture ratio because I haven't drained it yet.
 
Purple Ice + Water does NOT glow under UV light. Trust me, I tried it :(. It's really frothy too, which makes bleeding kinda difficult :/ It looks cool in a res tho!
