I am looking at purchasing a digital camera. I am not looking for anything extravagant. I don't take a whole lot of pictures but it would be nice to have something with which I can just take quick shots. I have been looking at this camera. Is this thing any good? Any comments, other suggestions?

Thanks

For a few bucks more, you'd be better off getting this.

I could have swore I just saw it on TV for $149 at CC earlier this week.

edit* If you're in Canada, I have no idea what you should get...sorry just noticed the price was in CAD.

Olympus Stylus 300 hands down.

All metal exterior and interior so it is very durable. The camera is weatherproof, so if your at a ballgame and it starts raining, no big deal, just don't jump in a pool with it. :)

Of all the cheap cameras out there, if your just getting into digital cameras and don't want anything fancy this is the best one. It's the only camera of its class to include a Lithium ION battery with a charger, you'll get 150 pictures on a single charge, try that with AA type cameras in this range and you'll see why Li-ION is the best choice to go with.

The camera has a phenominal lens for the price range. UV coated glass lens with a plastic cover. It takes AWESOME 8x10 photos, and if your new to this, you wont be doing anything bigger.

Check it out, you wont be dissapointed, I promise! It can be had for $199 or less, and for the extra $50 you pay now, It will save you in the long-run with the hassle of buying batteries all the time.

Hope this was a help, good luck with your camera hunt! :D
