The moniter overall looks fantastic upgraded from a CRT A90F veiwsonic. I do like the clearness off my CRT over LCD'S mainly because in dark games its actually dark.

My problem tho is the top and bottom of the screen streaching about 7 inches accros and going down about half an inch i can see backlight bleeding. When the Moniter turn on when its cool there no issue. After it heats up for 10 min the bleeding accurs. It actually bothers me in games i can see it and the top of my screen looks like a Gameboy SP. You know how those gameboys the color's looked sorta dull cuss of the light. The bottom isnt to bad the top is terrible tho its almost makes the top look completetly white

Thats what it looks like on my screen. Is this normal for this Moniter or what ? I have no bleeding in the corner's or the left and right side tho. Btw when i touch the screen on the top and bottom where the bleeding is its really warm to the touch feals like 40-50c would putting a 80mm fan in the back where the vents are help this problem. I really dont wanna send it back and wait 2-3 weeks to get another viewsonic said it would take 10 days to get another one on top of the 4-5 days to get there and back..

I have a crappy camera, but i will try to take a pic ona dark screen to see if this is normal or not. Do you guys know how to get my screen all dark like some of you i see do when you take a picture

Here isa pic, sorry this cam is like 6 years old. My next upgrade is a new camera

It may be poor quality but you can see the light on the top. When i look @ it it isnt that small it actually looks grey on my screen a solid black color looks really bright grey and it goes down about half an inch

It might be a hassle but RMA that. There's no reason to settle with that. If you don't RMA it, it will bug the hell out of you.

This picture where this guy has backlighting, mine looks like the top of his screen cept i dont have 4 corner litt up like him my middle looks like one of his top corners but it doesnt go as far down, just just goes more accros then it

I have the same monitor as well, and like the others have said, that's by no means normal. Send it back, i'd sure as hell NOT pay for that. Good Luck,

Sphere

Touch the top of youre screen where it touches the plastic part is it really warm up thee for you ?

Well i called viewsonic again for an RMA. I chose the advanced replacement. To where they send me a new moniter as i wait i keep mine then when i get the new one gets here i send the old one back to them.

Hopefully when the new one comes it doesnt have this problem. I also hope that it isnt even worse then this one .. That would suck

Personally i would have tried to get a refund. I went through a very similar situation awhile back, bought a VX924 and the backlight bleeding was terrible. Thinking i got a bad apple i exchanged it for another VX924 and it did end up being worse than the first one. That was enough to turn me off LCD's altogether so i got a refund and went back to CRT.

Well when they mail me my new monitor ill compare the 2 if its worse then what i have now ill just send that one back and ask em to give me another. I'll keep doing this until i get a good monitor.

Old thread but I just bought a VX922 and mine does the same thing, you can see a bit of the backlight across the top center, although it doesn't look as bad as yours. If I change my desktop to all black I can see it, otherwise I don't at all. Some might be better than others, I had to go through three VX922's to get one with no dead pixels and I noticed that backlight on all of them, so i'm keeping this one with no dead pixels. If you read user reviews on various sites quite of few of them mention the backlight issue. I think it's luck of the draw if you get a VX922 with no backlight issue.

Yea, i finally got my replacement, it has a dead pixel like my other one did cept instead of red its blue, i had to rub out 4 other pixels.

The monitor tho has bleeding also. Altho the top isnt very bad anymore now i have bleeding on the right hand side lol.

Whatever guess i cant get anything perfect.

I dont really notice the bleeding on the right hand side unless i go to all black screen. even when gaming in dark games like D3, BW2, and such it isnt as noticable like my other one where i would just stare @ the top cuss the bleeding was so bright.

It seems to be more noticable when the monitor powers up after cooling down, then when it warms up the bleeding seems to go away completetly. Totall Opisite of my other VX922, the thing got worse when it warmed up lol..

Probably, and I'm one of the lucky ones that got a good one.

Edit. No dead pixels either.
