using the via aqua 1200 right now, have had it forever. Great, but I'm sure technology has gotten better since I last setup a watercooled rig.

Anticipated specs
Case - chieftec matrix
intel 9550 (will OC) + fuzion v2
Gtx280 + GFX 2
LanParty LT X48-T2R + MCW-30
Chevetter Heatercore
1/2 ID tubing

would prefer a quiet and low vibration + reliable (as my via aqua). pump.
 
The Laing DDC with an XSPC or other top of your choice is my suggestion to you.
 
Also an excellent pump. It's about 3 times the size of the DDC but if you have room for it, go for it.
 
The D5 is a great pump, just make sure to get the "vario" version with the adjustable 5 speed potentiometer. Handy for bleeding out air bubbles.

The Laing DDC3.2, aka, Swiftech MCP-355 is also a great pump thats made better with an aftermarket top from either XSPC, Petra or EK.
 
CPX-Pro is another great pump; performs better than the DDC in most loops. Pretty quiet and cheap too.

It hasn't been around as long so it isn't as popular.
 
thanks guys.. for all those suggesting the 355, I didnt see any 1/2 barbs for them, is that changeable?
 
The aftermarket tops provide g1/4 threads so you can use regular 1/2" barbs with them. I've got dual ddc's with petra's tops and 1/2" barbs on them, they move a lot of water. I have noticed some buzzing, as they vibrate a lot. My previous d5 never made a sound, and is natively 1/2", so if you have the room you may want to go that route. They are both extremely reliable, old ddcs had reliability problems but new blue impeller ones are fine. Unless you buy used, any respectable shop should only have the new ones in stock.
