Pump question

Well I got my loop hooked up for the 24 hour test..and being the noob that I am noticed the bubbles from my d5 pump were going up...I planned my loop for them to go forward, so...can you reverse the leads to reverse the flow or do you have to flip the pump around? Again it's a DD-D5 pump, thanks! Everything else is flowing nicely though incase anyone is inquiring :p so far so good(I think) for a first-timer.
 
As far as I'm aware, the top port can only be the outlet and the side port can only be the inlet. You'll find that most pumps operate in this fashion, though there are exceptions to every rule.

EDIT: Fixed due to increasing mental retardation.

You mean the side can only be the inlet :)

You'll need to flip the pump to get it the other way.
 
Since the D5 uses an electronic circuit to create pulses of magnetism to drive the impeller rather than brushes to make pulses through an armurature you can't connect it backwards without risking blowing the circuit.

Besides due to the design of the impeller running it backwards would just result in it still drawing water in the center and expelling it out the side but just at a very reduced rate.
