Pump mounting

I'm pretty sure this is a silly question but I figured I should ask it anyway.

I'm sketching my next build which I'm planning on watercooling. Is there any problem with mounting a pump upsidedown? I plan to use an Eheim pump but instead of mounting it on the floor of the case I'm thinking about mounting on the inside top of the case.

Would that affect flow rates at all? Create strange air pockets? Any problems you see?

Thanks.

there will be no problem if you mount a reservoir higher then your pump-inlet.
After you've filled the system with water,it will equalize. Now fill as high as in the picture
and you'll be safe about having air in your pump.

The pump can go in anyway you want it to. The reservoir can also go in above or below the pump, though most people put it above to help bleed the air out of the system. I've seen lots of systems where the reservoir is in the middle or the bottom of the case. :)

Okay, thanks! I was just worried about if there was any problem with the output barb facing downward.

I'm sure the entire plan is probably going to make it a little more diffucult to bleed the system but that's actually something I've been blessedly sucessful at with very little work.
