I was a novice water cooler a couple months ago--got the swiftech set-up that's down in my sig....i want to upgrade my pumpage. i think hte swiftech dual radiator solution is a good one, so i want to stick with that, but the stock pump has GOT to go.

Here's a link to it: http://www.swiftnets.com/products/mcp600.asp

i find it loud and as i plan on upgrading the water circuit to include my aiw9800, i figured now would be a good time to look into a pump.

I was thinking that $100 would be a good price point.

any suggestions?

loud, huh?... i just ordered this same pump... have you tried running this pump at 7V? i am planning to do that with mine...

have u considered of getting a new case, im pretty sure you could find with the dough ur willing to spend, a case that will shut ur pump's noise up. My friend's system has a million fans, and when he thought about the idea of water in ur case, he thought it was crazy. Though he has control over the fans because he installed one of those front panel with the knobs and twisty things haha from fry's $30. I think he made a circuit system with his case fans, and linked it so that he could turn them down when he slept, because his comp sounds like an F'ing snow blower. Just if u wanted to rethink having the water cooling systems. But i was wondering myself, is it possible to buy a quiet pump? Oh i jus found on xoxide, their pumps are said to be quiet and xoxide is a reliable name source. so you might want to check out their pumps/reservoirs.

When it comes to 12V pumps the MCP600 is basically going to be the only mainstream one you're gonna find. That is at least until Danger Den releases their DD12V-D4 which is due mid to late February. The Laing pump Danger Den is using is being discussed at overclockers.com, OCAU, and Procooling.

Assuming you are willing to go a little above 100 and use a 110V pump the Iwaki MD15 would be extremely hard to beat.

The noise is probably coming from vibrations transfered to your case.

Try isolating it in the air with bungie cords or something. Or placing some foam or rubber grommets underneath it.

i've looked at DD12V-D4's specs - the thing performs well, but it's huge! about 50% bigger than MCP600 in all dimensions, and only comes with 1/2" barbs... i personally don't have that much room - but may work out for other people. :D
