pump and waterblock reviews?

That pump is one of the most popular pumps in the enthusiast circle. I use one myself and its been great. Very silent and strong, you can't go wrong with it. The CPU block is popular as well but I do not own one to give you a better idea of its performance.

If you're looking into the Apogee, and can wait a few days, the Apogee GT will be released on the 15th. Price should be around $10 more or so (so $50-55). However, testing has already shown it seems to be beat by dtek fuzion, which is higher in price (I recall $65? Can't recall). But then, that's a slightly different budget than say apogee.

I have the swiftech storm so can't comment on the apogee. But I do have the same pump and it is almost near silent at full speed and pushes a lot of water. It's exceedingly calm and doesn't rattle in the least. You can't go wrong with it.

Ya I can definitely wait because I won't be getting my radiator, reservoir, tubing, for a while. And one more question I've seen some people with hardrive cages in their case stick their pump in there and the tube through those holes. I'm getting a new case from a friend and I want to know if I could do that too like put the pump in the hardrive cage and run the tubing through the hole. If anyone has this case http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811233002 and I'd be taking out that tool box in place of the pump. So could 1/2" tubing fit through the holes? Thanks

I have that case and no, 1/2 ID won't fit through there. What I did with mine is get a Icy Box to hold 5 hard drives in the 5.25 drive bays and use the hard drive cage specifically for the pump.

If you don't have a lot of hard drives then you could just get some mounting brackets to put your hard drive(s) in the 5.25 bays. You can angle the pump so the tubing will just route around the cage instead of through it. Here's a pic so you know what I'm talking about.

EDIT: btw, I would STRONGLY recommend you get 7/16" ID tubing like Masterkleer from mcmaster.com which is what you see in the picture. You have to put the tips in boiling water for about 10 seconds to get them to fit but it is much more secure than standard 1/2" ID. I just had a bit of 1/2" Tygon spring a leak on my NB HSF and video card which is no fun.

And a shot of the Icy Box. Be forewarned, if you decide to get one an icy box the case will need some modifications, mainly you'll have to file down the 5.25 drive supports.

I think I'll still go with 1/2" just because of preferance dont know why lol. Do you know why yours leaked, no clamps, or just bad placement of tubes. Also does the tubing that you did for yours, hit the side panel at all? And anybody have the waterblock? Thanks
edit: O ya does the 7/16" tubing fit? I know thats barely any diifference from 1/2 but does it?

I used worm drive clamps tightened up well but I guess not enough. First time using worm drives and I was worried about cutting the tubing because I had read about that elsewhere. Now I wish I just would've tightened the little bastards down. Don't have to worry about that with masterkleer. The masterkleer will fit but you have to boil the tips first (don't know if you saw my edit in the above post). The boiling of the tips is what makes it so secure. You'd have to cut it off to remove it which is nice because that virtually eliminates the possibility of leaks if your barbs are installed properly. I know I won't be buying 1/2" ever again after seeing what 7/16 is all about. The tubing doesn't touch the cage and just barely touches the door but not enough to effect anything.

Well, you can have a look at the post "Help with leak" below this to see what happened. It was a small leak that ended up gunking everything up and it only occured once I moved the case. I leak tested over 24 hours and it was fine till I moved it. Yet another reason for 7/16". First leak I ever had in 2 1/2 years of watercooling too.

I would go with the new D-Tek block called the Fusion.

It has been tested to beat the Swiftech Storm and only costs $65.

Wow, I just did a search on the Fuzion, pretty impressive especially for the price. Now I wish I had gotten that instead of the Storm. Oh well.

D-Tek really should be more well known.

I have their MP-05 SP version and it purely amazing.
