I was at a local thrift store today and saw 13 Bell 9421 receivers for $7.99 a piece and figured, why not! All sets come with a 1TB drive in them and I for the price it seemed reasonable. So, I get them out and google the model number and I am reading they are AF long sector drives. If I format these, how will they perform within windows compared to a similar drive? They are all 5700rpm (odd speed) low power consumption drives.

It's probably one of the seagate pipeline video drives. 5900rpm, and is tuned a little differently for acceptable performance in DVR workflows. They should perform about as well in normal operation as a 5400rpm 1tb drive would.

Thanks! I just hadn't heard of the AF drives, that's all. Happens to be a Toshiba, though.

Thanks again!
