I just had two different machines pick up what appears to be the same WU?
Should I delete one of them?

I think it is an amazing coincidence and fold them both. To me it would be like two different people getting the same WU.

Are these Linux boxen?

If so, perhaps they accidentally share machinedependent.dat ? (md5sum would tell)

One is a regular linux box and the other is running linux in virtualbox

I checked the md5sum for the machinedependent.dat on each box and this is what I came up with

f14dbe02b251c357adff0ad8cbec51a4 machinedependent.dat

f5b1dac091d5df5c9800270260c28f80 machinedependent.dat

Not same...
I guess you can call yourself lucky, then :)

I have pulled the same WU in different machines at the same time before - it does happen and is normal apparently.

We have seen this before. It is normal. Each unit is sent out at least twice for verification. You just happen to be doing your own verification.

Yup, I had the same thing happen to me once a while ago. It is normal and really comes down to the luck of the draw considering how much repetition there is of the same work unit in order to ensure integrity of the results. I can't remember, but it may have been not long after folding2 was put together last summer.
