Playerunknown's Battlegrounds continues to rule the roost as one of the most popular online shooters and as a result it has more than its fair share of cheaters. Millions of bans have taken place, but the cheaters keep on cheating. In order to fight this better the developer is adding the ability to use the in-game replay feature to directly report the suspected cheater. I know killcams have been around for a while, but they are letting you use this tool even if you haven't been killed by the suspected cheater. Sounds good to me. This is currently on the test server and should be going out soon to the production systems. Happy gaming and keep reporting those lowlife cheaters.

Starting with the current test build (once the testing is complete, this feature will be moved to the live servers as well), you will be able to report players directly from the replay feature of our game. This means that you no longer need to be killed by a suspected cheater for you to be able to use the in-game reporting tool.

I wonder what will their punishment be after x amount of offenses and how quickly will they react after the report?

How do you report PUBG dipshits live streaming with no delay whining about stream snipers?! It's just as much a cancer as true cheaters!

the best part is the reply system is so out of whack half of the stuff looks 100 percent fake due to hit detection. People will just report all the time because they get killed i wonder how they will combat that. Ive seen plenty of sketchy people in that game but ive watched kill cams that and spectated friends that it just doesnt show 100 percent correctly.

I am sure frequency of reports, and both accuser and accused player skill data will be taken into account to ignore the 12 year old's 30th report this week.
Stats will be leveraged to qualify reports I am sure

People who cheat at video games should have their GPU confiscated and replaced with an S3 ViRGE.

I think it's pretty clear they are not going to investigate 1-off reports. If there's high trend of reports against a single player, that will be checked out. Like every other game with any type of reporting feature.

    Christ, can't please some people.

I am glad they are doing this. Usually the games seem pretty clean, but once in awhile you will get head shot through a mountain 1km away. The kill cam has been absolutely fantastic for reporting.

New cheat report feature that makes you feel like something is gonna happen but in the end nothing will happen. Recoil hackers will still be there to shoot you from 200+m full auto never missing a shot on your head.

Ran in to one last night it was down a 2 v 1 for the win, he got 2 shots in to me, then i ducked and instantly he flicked to my team mate with in 1sec put 4 shots in to him with an SKS from good 300meters. Lucky he was near dead due to gas i was able to stand get 1 bullet in to him but he was able to full sprint put 1 shot in to me some how. Lucky it wasn't enough to kill me and we won.

Um almost every match i play with a buddy we run in to a hacker, they don't even hide the fact they are using a recoil hack at this point. Little to nothing get done to remove them.

Another problem is.....Well the game isn't expensive, so yea sure you ban the cheater, he will just buy a new copy for $29.99 and keep on selling. CS:GO has the same problem.

Now put the game at say 49.99, well the cheaters will go down some. But not by much, because they are selling cheats, so they probably made an easy $50 just that day selling cheats.

Most aspects of the game are client-side controlled (i forgot the word for this), this is allowing for things like instant med-kit healing, cause the server just accepts the player instantly healed for some dumb reason. If Bluehole (PUBG's devs) were to force the server to take up the work, a lot of cheating and hacking stuff can be blocked, but according to this video:

Bluehole has a ton of network/server stuff to fix before this is probably possible. I stopped playing the game, I'm tired of shit netcode and servers, and chinese players flooding NA servers to gain ping advantages without remorse.

So how good are they at keeping cheaters out? can they just get a new IP and come back in or is it account banned or what...

Not good at all. They don't even need a new IP, just a new copy of the game and bam back in and cheating again.

My brother keeps trying to get me to purchase this game, so I have been trying to research it some in my free time. All roads lead to "angry about hackers" it seems. Is the new reporting feature the fix?

Not yet as it's only on the test server. Even when the feature becomes active it will only slow cheaters down a little, but not significantly enough. The only way to really curb the cheating is to region lock the game which bluehole seems unwilling to do...

It's obvious why they are hesitating though, they are making tons of money! What better way to sell a product? Ban people from using the account they bought, then make them buy it again! They keep making money this way and so they have zero interest in stopping the cheating so long as it's profitable.

Bottom line, might want to get used to it as it's unlikely to change.

400 hours into the game with friends, and we've run into maybe a few cheaters...either we're lucky and don't run into them or they're not affecting us to cause us to not play anymore.

The player base is just really shitty. It's no where near as bad as whiners would lead you to believe. Also some people are just more prone to falsely yell cheater, PUBG by its nature likely draws this out of people. It certainly can be frustrating playing a round for 20 minutes only to get one shot killed by luck or by someone you never saw.

Game is still fun as hell though.

Thats pretty sad, this day in age you can get so much info from a computer to create unique ID's generated to tag a system and that is all they do...
