PSU #*$&%^!

Normally we ask to have the system sent to us to be sure the PSU was at fault, if so then yes.

Seems like the length of time it would take to do that + labor would justify the cost of replacing the PSU in the first place. Plus, if it was the PSUs fault, then you're really in a bad situation if this happens frequently, having to replace the PSU also (with CWT Antecs I'm sure it's very frequent ;)).

Actually Antec PSU's almost never kill anything when they die.

The problems are getting the SmartPowers to work at all (QC problem) &
those temp sensitive caps in the TruePower II's combined with the low fan settings.

David-
Are the Smartpowers the only bad ones or is the whole Antec line going south? Have several folks on another forum with Antecs and seemingly related problems. Enermax Liberties too.

As far as high DOA's go, it seems to be just the SmartPowers.

It seems there was a bad batch or 2 of Enermax Liberty's, but the one that are selling right now, seem to be ok.

I think you're refering to the RMA cap problem that exists in the CWT Antecs. Those are the Smartpower, Neopower, and Truepower (I & II). The only current exceptions to this is the NeoHE and Trio (Truepower III) which are made by Seasonic and use different caps (thank god). The Enermax Libetys, as Dave said, has a bad batch or two, this cause many many bad reviews on newegg. You wouldn't believe how many people I've seen come in and said "I don't want the Liberty, it has bad reviews on Newegg". Grrr

Ok Thanks. We had a guy who lost two Liberties in a row but no problems since for other users.
