A few days ago I was playing WOW when suddenly my computer just turned off randomly and wouldn't restart. I pulled out the PSU that came with the case (Coolmax 350 or something, its in the trash now) and could see the PSU had burned out.

Fortunatly it didn't take any of the other components with it because I had a friend bring over a spare PSU and the computer booted right up as it would normally.

I really can't keep this spare PSU for long and have been looking for a cheap alternative (30-50 US). Not looking to overclock or anything and I took a look at newegg and I came up with the following:

Thermaltake TR2 W0070 430W Power Supply
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817153023

ATADC PSRPP550-A 550W Power Supply Cheap @ $25 but newegg's shipping is 100k?

Rosewill 1.3 RE502-BLK 500W Aluminum Power Supply

FSP Group (Fortron Source) ATX300GT-S 300W Power Supply - Retail

Any comments or recommendations?

My choice would be the Fortron = good brand. You might be amazed at the systems I've powered with
a 300w Fortron.

Since that MSI kt4v board powers the CPU from the +5v rail be sure the PSU you choose
has a good +5v rating. As opposed to a PSU with a strong +12v rail instead.

Like that Rosewill for instance - dual +12v rails. Not something you really need for that system.
Not to mention Rosewill aren't known to be a very good brand. Think I'd stay away from that
ATADC too. And not because of the shipping ;)

I'd say the fortron. I don't trust Rosewell (mixed bag) thermaltake's older design (heavy +5, light on the +12), or anything that is named "Dark Knight" and has $99,999 shipping.

Actually, all four of those PSU's are single-rail PSU's. The thread starter's system is a Socket A AMD system whose motherboard does not have a 4-pin ATX12V P4 connector; thus, the CPU uses primarily the +5V rail. The drives use both the +5V and the +12V rails. So, for that system, you do want a PSU with a fairly high +5V rating. A PSU that's heavy on the +12V but light on the +5V - like in many newer dual-rail PSU's - is not recommended for such older systems.
