I am going to be building a new rig soon, and have found some wattage discrepancies on the manufacturers websites. On BFGs website they say their gtx 295 requires 680 watts, with a combined 12v current rating of 46 amps or more. On Corsairs website, their PSU finder, sais' that even the 520 watt HX would be enough. Now granted it has 54 watts across its 3 12v rails, It dosen't have the wattage that BFG reccomends. I currently have a 620 HX, but it dosent have the 8 pin connector for the video card, And i dont want to run the 2 6 pin PCI express, And 2 extra molex connectors, Because...well thats just too many damn cables. Here is the system i'll likely be building.
MOBO: ASUS P6T Deluxe V2
CPU: Intel Core i7 920 @ 2.66 GHz
RAM: CORSAIR DOMINATOR 6GB (3 x 2GB) DDR3 1866 TR3X6G1866C9DF
VIDEO CARD: BFG Tech BFGEGTX2951792BE GeForce GTX 295
1 SSD harddrive, 2 120mm fans, 1 140mm fan, and 1 optical drive
So what gives with these websites contradicting eachother? What should i do?
