Hey, I was thinking of just upgrading my entire pc basically because my current pc doesn't boot up. I had the Enermax Liberty 500W PSU and it may be causing problems. I will test it with new parts but if it doesn't work, I will have to get a new PSU. I don't want to pay anything above $100 and I only care about stability. The 8800GT is loud as hell so if the PSU is silent, it won't really make any difference in noise-level for the whole pc. I am spoiled with the modular support from my Enermax Liberty so I like modular, but if it doesn't have modular it's no big deal.

For the rest of my pc, I am getting the Gigabyte EP43 mobo, E2200(Looking to upgrade to quad-core in a year. I will possibly overclock the E2200 from 2.2 ghz to 2.5ghz.), 98000GT(never going to go SLI), G.Skill 4gb DDR2 1000, 2 harddrives(may upgrade to 3 in a year if needed).

I was looking at the Antec Earthwatts 500W http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371007 . If it is strong enough to run the specs up top for $50, it's a win-win situation.

yes its plenty strong and a great deal. i have mine powering my e2200 at 2.85 and my radeon 4850

I think those Enermax units have 3 year warranties, just get it fixed/replaced.

I'd go with the 520w Corsair should be more than enough power. IDK about the zalman, but the corsair will be plenty, should be enough even for CF.

+1 to the 520HX. Though for a bit more headroom, go with the 620HX.

just curious why people would spend 150$ on a cpu 150$ on a motherboard and then to power them they choose a 50$ psu?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hx620 is nice

its should be enough sure. but why not spend the extra 30$ and get the hx620.. the google check out deal at buy;.com is going to end today so get it soon.. haha

Gonna go with the 520 I think.

As long as you guys think it can handle the above rig with only a 4870 or two 4850s and an E8400. 520w should be enough right?

It should be enough, but if you go CF I would spend the little bit more for the headroom.
