So I've had a Corsair hx620 for a couple of years now and it's by far been the best power supply I've owned, it has however just decided to die and I don't know what could have killed it.
I was playing some Call of Pripyat before bed last night, shut the computer down like normal when I was done. I try to turn it back on this afternoon and I get...nothing, no fans, no leds nothing. So I check my surge protector and it's fine and my monitors, my xbox 360 and my wireless router plugged into it all work just fine.
So I start checking connections in the computer itself to make sure nothing is loose, nope everything checks fine. So i pull the power supply and do the paperclip test and get...nothing the damn thing is completely dead. (I just did the RMA form from Corsair). I guess my question is....what in the hell killed it? All my other plugged in electronics are fine and we didn't lose power or anything last night, it's just leaving me scratching my head. And of course since I don't have another PSU I can't test to make sure my other parts are working fine which is a whole nother worry.
Oy.
