Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Hi i'm just wondering the importance/performance of a PSU. My 350W PSU is a weak one, and I just wanted to know if I got a new one, what changes in performance I would see. I do mostly gaming, surfing web, messenging.
of course your equipment might last alot longer
intermittent problems might disappear
and were you an overclocker, you might be able to sustain a higher stable overclock
though the PSU is just one link in the power delivery chain,
if its the weak link improvement can be had
the PSU is the heart of your computer
and the one component able to kill the rest
that makes it rather critical, but its not a "performance" enhancer per se
a supply either does its job or it doesnt even a bad supply will do it "most" of the time
but considering what a cheap overloaded PSU can do to several hundred dollars worth of components "most of the time" doesnt cut it
there are limited reasons to get a supply that exceeds spec or your current capacity needs
most have to do with the longevity of your components and the supply itself
but when you are pushing your components as far as they can be,
at that point cleaner more stable power may be able to allow you to push them just a little bit more
getting a basic spec compliant supply that actually meets your needs under a wide array of circumstances
(unstable power from the wall outlet, elevated temperatures, meeting the actual load your placing on the supply)
isnt optional if you have any respect for the investment youve already made in other components
