alright my buddy needs help here is his story on another forum.

"Alright, here's the quick recap of my computer, bought 2 years ago, very rarely turned off (C'mon Bittorrent runs at night!) It's a cheap PSU I bought with my case, ($50 for the case and PSU). I'd say 2 years is a while for a cheap PSU to be running. It's a 350 watt Powmax. How can I tell if it actually is my PSU? When I plug it in the light on the motherboard comes on, but when I hit the power button the lights on my fans flicker, none of the fans spin though and nothing happens. When I unplug the cable from the PSU a wierd noise that is unexplainable occurs. How it happened- I was sitting there trying to install Warcraft 3 again and browsing the net, my computer just shut off, and it hasn't turned back on since. I think I'm going to go out and buy one (only if Newegg was a retail store and not an internet only.) Anyone have any other input?

Just the other day I was commenting on how lucky I was that my PSU hasn't broken yet, such a cheap PSU and how ironic it broke 2 days after. SOB."

"Hmmm.... That is still under warranty so I guess that is good, but wouldn't BIOS still go if the CPU was dead? I guess the reason I thought it was the PSU was because the fans that are independent from the MOBO don't run, they just flash. Anyone know any ways of testing which one it could be?"

He is looking for an answer, before he replaces it. He doesnt know if its only his PSU or if it is something more. Could it be a blown CPU? Or a fried mobo?
thanks guys.
