So I am sleeving my psu, and i redid my cables so that they went clean into my psu, that way it looks cleaner, can I have any 4 red 2 blacks and 1 yellow yo make a moltex? Cuz the origninals aren't to gether, but I think that I can have any 4 to make a complet set, aslong as it goes yellow black black red rite?

Thanks for you help.

The colors of the wires don't really matter, but the connections of each wire matter very, very much. If you changed around the connections inside the PSU, you will have to make sure that the +12 volt line connects to where the yellow wire was, and the +5 volt line to the red wire's position, and the ground to all black positions. It's absolutely critical that the right pin receives the right voltage. At best, you will fry components; at worse, you will burn down your house and put your life in danger.

All I did was take off the 4 pin moltex's. So you are saying that I need to open up my psu and make shure that the right wires are going to the right spot? I have4 lines comming out, 2two of them have floppy connectors on the end that I did not take off so I know that those 2 leads are correct. There are 2two other leads. I took the moltex's off them and I changed them around, as it is know I have 2 blacks and 1 red and 1 yellow together, and the same thing with the other lead. Were they the original wires that were together prolly not.

So what do i need to do?

*EDIT* I opened up my PSU, its an ENERMAX 465 W, on the circut board I saw the 4wires going into one section, there were prolly about 8 or so of these, 2 black 2 yellow 2 red another 2 black i think and some organ which are for the 12V, what do I have to sort it by to get it working?

Yeaha it was like

and from left to right it was yellow black black red, well depending if it was face up or down, but it only fits one way, so I just have to put the wires in yellow black black red back into the plastic holder, and it should work? I though u meant something inside I had to change.

*So basicly, when the round part of the moltex is facing up, and the flat on the bottom, it goes yellow black black red.

My 9800pro takes it, the rounded moltex part is facing up, so my motelx that give is is facing up, red is closest to me when it is in my case, (i am looking from window)
So inorder to make it work correcrly if my moltex is sitting flat with the rounded part up, my wires have to go
YELLOW BLACK BLACK RED

Just if that makes sense let me know,

Yes, it should work. In your first post I thought you had moved/removed wires from the solder points inside the power supply, but if you didn't, you don't need to worry about it. Just connect the wires in the original order, Y/B/B/R.

Hell no, well not untill I have enough money for another one :p
