ok, got my new rig in today, a 3200+ winchester (that ive got at 2.5, does 2.6, but i dont like the volts i have to pump to get it there... its even a CBBID 0451 :p)

anyhow, this supply worked fine with my aXP/GT rig, the GT is being carried over. it used to be stable at U speeds, now it artifacts to all hell in 3dmark05 at stock speeds... the benchmark finishes and the score is about right, but damn is it fugly.

right now im using a Tt 480w psu and im 90% positive its cuase it has 18a on the +12v(especially since my old board took the CPU power off the +5v, and the new one takes the power off the +12v). i would just like to verify this before dropping a bill on a new supply... and i would like to know what you suggest. id like to keep it under or right at 100 bucks, so gimmie some options. thanks!

edit: when i took my vcore down a bit and lowered the clock speed to 2.5 and ran 3dmark05 again with stock clocks ont eh GT, there were MUCH less artifacts. this has gotta be the PSU, no?

i am closing this thread and moving it over to video cards for more exposure, and it might have to do with that section than it does this one. if you have something to say, please post in the other thread :)
