Ok, so I bought all new parts for my comp, but I can't seem to determine why I can't see anything on my monitor.

I have the ATI HD 4870 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150436&cm_re=HD_4870-_-14-150-436-_-Product)

and then the Corsair PSU (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139008)

The problem is that the PSU only has one 6 pin connector for the GPU. Do I need to have two to be able to see anything or could there be another problem?

I turn on the computer and it beeps, but I get no display on the screen.

You need to connect both PCI-E ports for the video card to work properly. You probably need a Molex-to-PCI-E adapter.

However, the product page for the HD4870 recommends a 450 watt or greater PSU with two PCI-E ports. The CX400 generates up to 30A on its 12V rails. It's possible that you aren't getting enough power for the HD4870.

You do need to connect both 6 pin PCI-E connectors on the Radeon HD 4870 video card. That XFX video card should have come with 2 x 4pin male molex connectors to 1 x 6 pin PCI-E connector adaptors. What is the specs of your system comprised of?

ok so i found the pin connector, so i plugged in both of the 6 pins now, and it turns on. All the fans are running, and it beeps, still no picture...

Power down the whole system and try clearing the CMOS settings. See if this helps. Also, check the cable connection on the monitor and video card. Uninstall and reinstall the video card as well.

sweet...just wiggled the cord around a little, and it came up

Which cord did you wiggle?

Not trying to scare you or anything, but it would probably be safer if you rechecked everything as just thinking this problem fixed itself from a "cable wiggle" might be setting your system for failure in the future should another deeper problem exist.

the monitor cable to the video card in the back of the tower. It wasnt pushed in all the way, but then it just started working.

Now I am just having problems with installing windows 7...says I don't have the CD/DVD driver to install Windows 7. Trying to find a fix, but so far, to no avail.
