Long time lurker, first time poster. I am currently in the process of getting parts for a new build, however I am kind of stuck on what PSU to get. Below is a rough component list:

P8P67 Pro/2600k
Zalman CNPS9900A/CNPS9900Max/Noctua NH-D14/Antec KUHLER H2O 920 (I really don't know yet, if someone has suggestions on this one as well, would be super helpful, leaning towards the CNPS9900Max atm if I can find one on sale)
8 GB DDR3 1600
1 SSD/2 2TB Caviar Blacks
1 DVDRW
6950 or GTX 560ti/570 (depending which one is cheaper at the end of the month or I can find a good deal on), I would like the option to crossfire/SLI later on as needed.

Now for the power supply I am trying to keep it under 150 shipping included if possible, here are the ones I've looked at pricing/review wise:
  • AX750, kinda expensive, fully modular, I like this one the best but haven't seen it cross the sub 150 mark in a while
  • TX750 V2, not a fan of having extra cables lying around, but I can zip tie them down at the bottom of the case if needed
  • XFX 850W PRO850W XXX, Partially modular, from what I read these are the same as the old XFX Black edition which were based as the same platform as the Corsair ones, is this still true? These are going ridiculously cheap at the moment at a local store. Also I like the fact that it's an 850 compared to the 750 rating on all the other ones.
  • XFX 750W PRO750W Core Edition, non modular but are sub $100 at the moment, which I think makes them a better deal compared to the TX750, unless I misread the reviews and these are NOT the same platform
  • Thermaltake Toughpower XT TPX-775M, going for ~120ish on egg, 125 local store, partially modular, anyone have any experience with these? I've read the review, came across as 'meh'

So thoughts, suggestions and possible musings would be appreciated.

Thanks.

That XFX Pro power supply is most likely based off of the Seasonic platform, most likely the M12D platform, which Corsair does not use. However, it's still a good unit, and one of the better ones at the time. The AX750 if you want gold efficiency and fully modular. If you can get the XFX Pro 850 for a good price, I would go for that.

Tsumi, thanks for the reply. I just found a decent local deal on the ax750/ax850. The ax850 is on sale for 165 while the ax750 is going for 135, going to pick up one of those most likely.
