jen4950 said:And If you are interested, I have a PC Power and Cooling 510 XE/ EPS12V
Ice Czar said:great supply and would be my 1st choice (see sig)
but wouldnt fit that case
as a matter of fact the first thing I did was blow the 5 year warranty by
sliting the sticker, popping the top, drilling 2 holes and tapping them to secure it in my 4U rackmount
...
In 8-10 weeks we should have the TC800-EX that
would provide up to 66 Amps on the +12 Volt rail.
...
However, even with the TC800-EX we can provide
only 15 drive connectors maximum which would
normally be configured as follows:
6 SATA drive connectors.
8 standard 4 pin drive connectors.
1 standard mini drive connector.
1 24 or 20-pin motherboard power connector.
1 PCI Express Video 6-pin power connector.
1 ATX12V 4-pin CPU power connector.
...
Preliminary pricing for the TC800-EX is $490.00
and requires the PC case to be at least 20 inches
deep. The power supply will be 9 inches deep
instead of 5.5 inches deep for a standard ATX
power supply.

Ice Czar said:however an EPS12V would require the 8 pin not the ATX12V 4 pin![]()
Ice Czar said:EPS12V is the Server System Infratstructure spec put out by Intel
and such boards have the 8 pin connector not the ATX12V spec 4 pin connector
in addition there are 2 kinds of +12V rail options depending on the total watage\option of the manufacturer
in Both the latest ATX12V (v2.0>2.2) and EPS12V spec there is a minimum of dual +12V rails
there is however an option for Quad +12V rails in EPS12V
and with such a monster Id likely consult on that with PCP&C
Isolating all those drives and the CPUs from each other being a good Idea
let me grab the spec differences (and retype them from the PDF)
something Ive been needing to do for the FAQ Im writing, but that isnt going to be immediate, so in a couple of hours
Ice Czar said:are there 2 x 4 pin connectors? In your ATX12V wiring harness?
Ice Czar said:I knew that the volatges where the same
Im trying to determine exactly what kind of clearance would be required to use an 8 pin on a 4 pin connector in another thread
and Im also trying to sort out how the different quad rails pin out for the FAQ
so if there was actually 2 4pin connectors on all or a few stock PSU wiring harnesses
Id really like to know![]()
