So I've decided for my next rig I want to use an Antec P180 case.

I've heard that cable length and cable management can be problematic with the case, so I want to get some opinions before I buy a power supply.

I'd prefer to get all my parts from my local store instead of ordering online, but Memory Express doesn't have the best PSU selection.

I'm aiming for about 500W.

JonnyGuru's website gives a glowing review to the Silverstone 500W, which I can get from my local store, but it's cables aren't modular. Would this be a problem?

I could also choose an Enermax Liberty 500W, which is modular but I haven't heard anything particularly positive about the Liberty series.

Or should I just order from NCIX and get a Corsair 520W?

Thanks

Corsair 520w has a lot of what every one looks for it seems. Modular, quality brand maker.
18 amp per 12v rail is a problem. It is better to have one single strong 12v rail. 3 12v rails getting 18 amps a piece, with a max amp draw on the 3 12v being like... 41 amp...or closer to 48 at best.
If your CPU gets 12v rail one, and your gpu on the 2nd and 3rd rail, it will definitely probably draw all of 40 amps those 2 cards them selves atleast.

how future proof is the 520.. i was gonna get the hx620w but if the 520 will last a good while ill go with that instead

Only things the 520W can't handle:

-Mid/High end DX10 SLi/CF
-Quad-SLi

can the 620 do SLI DX10?

i dont plan on getting a DX10 card until i really have to but if the 620 can ill shell out the extra money to not have to buy another psu later

im going to be getting a p180 too and i was thinking of the 520. if i dont plan on going SLI or Xfire will that last me a good amount of time?

I don't particularly plan on going CF/SLI but if I do, there are the graphics card PSUs now that fit in a 5.25 bay in case I decide to upgrade like that.

This kinda got derailed. Does anybody know whether or not the silverstone 500w will work?

Either go ahead & get the Corsair 620W or plan on adding a Fortron X3 Booster GPU PSU later, if needed,
these fit in an empty 5.25" bay.
