I'm looking for a new PSU, but I don't really know anything about them. My video card claims to require a 350W power supply with 20A on +12V. From what I can tell, a lot of PSUs out there only have about 18A on the +12V thing. I've been looking PSUs that are at least 500W. I'd also like modular cabling. I also keep seeing things with 2 or more 12V rails, I'm not even sure what that means. Any recommendations from similar set ups?

What are you running currently? A 7600GT is pretty efficient and does not require very much power.

Look for a QUALITY psu, not a cheap ass one with a ton of voltage / amperage

Also, it's 20a combined, the requirements.

Single rail > multi rail. Have a read through some documentation. Multi railed has a seperate rail for the cpu, so if everything else is stressing your rig and your cpu isn't doing jack shit, you're gonna have a problem.

I suggest the XClio 450, Silverstone ST40EF/Enhance ENS-5140GH, Seasonic S12 380..

I'm running the 7600GT right now. But I only have a 350W power supply, and that doesn't seem to be cutting it anymore.

Noes ! Corsair HX 520 is cheap at zipzoomfly.com and it has modular and is a much better supply.

Ok then, new question. The XClio one is more efficient (1%) and cheaper. It also has more output, not that it really matters for me. Why is the corsair so much better? Also, the Corsair has three +12V rails, what's the third one for?
