PSU compatibility with Asus mobo

I have no idea how a power supply would not be compatible with a motherboard. That would be the same reasoning as it not being compatible with the hard drive. It just doesn't make any sense.

possibly due to the droop asus boards suffer the powersuplys inablility to detect the amount of droop and correct itself.

Now I'm confused. Can "Full ATX 2.2 compliance" of the PSU have anything to do with this?

Not really. There was an issues with a few models of Antec PSU's not working properly with high-end Asus boards a while back. It's rare, but it happens.

As for your question, defi: I'm not familiar with that PSU, but if they tell you it won't work, I'd take their advice. The ATX 2.2 thing isn't the problem. I usually try to steer people away from Hiper anyway since they're mostly bling. You can do better for the money. What site are you buying from?

I'm in europe, prices are different here (and not just because of the 22% tax). I can't find another PSU with such specs for less. For example a SilverStone STRIDER 560W Active PFC costs approx. $148 while that Hiper is $99.

I tried switching different components and that PSU gives an error for every intel 965 mobo that I tried. Other Hiper PSU's don't seem to have this problem at all.

I can send them a form with a question and ask them what's up with this. I thought it was something obvious...
