Hi everyone,

I don't know if I am on the right category with my question but here's my problem :

I've recently bought a Emachines T3418 with an integrated graphics solution. Someone is ready to sell me a used EVGA Geforce 6600GT which I believed (same opinion as the review of the same system at the (H)ardocp site) could be a right fit to my system.

Here's the catch : the minimum PSU requirements for this card is a 350 watts PSU. My system only has a 300 watts installed inside.

Is it OK to go with this card anyway or will I have to find another compatible card ? If so, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks for your input.

They guestimate you need a 350W assuming you might have a crappy 350W.

That eMachine comes with a pretty solid Delta 300W. You could do a 6800GT if you wanted. ;)

Thanks for the info...

According to the article at (H)ardocp, the PSU would be a HIPRO ATX 300 Watt unit; it doesn't say if it is the type/category of PSU or the company that made it. But if it's OK for the card: then I'll go for it... :D

Hipro? Really?

The one I bought from Tiger had a Delta in it.

Why not do this: Open up the side panel and read what the sticker says on it. ;)

If it's a Delta, you're definitely good. If it's a Hipro, it's only slightly better than crap, but it will work.
