yeah hi am gettting a 6800ultra and just found out that my psu will now where near cut it at 185watts max. so i went on ebay and found a codogen 500w atx power supply. i wanted to know what to check for in the way of psu compatability. It heres all the specs
ATX compatible silent power supply - 500W
Suitable for Pentium 4 and AMD Athlon series.
One 20-pin connector with 4-pin extension (24-pin) - Compatible with all motherboards
One 4 pin power connector for Pentium 4 motherboards
Six CDROM/DVD CD/DVD/HDD power connector
One Floppy drive power connector
Power connector for the monitor
it says compatable with all mother boards and mine is also p4 but what about dimensions it doesnt say anything about that, so will it fit in my case or are all power supply units roughly the same size and i dont need to worry about this
also if anyone could tell me if this is a good psu (im getting it for $40) and what power supply is needed for a bfg geforce 6800 ultra oc256mb agp card
also when it says for instance a card needs a 400w psu does that mean it takes all 400w what about everything else such as the processor etc. should you get a psu with a max output of more than the card needs to allow for other compnents.
thanks
