I am in the process of building a new PC - it has been awhile. I have jumped on the i7 920 bandwagon.

I have the following on order:
Asus P6t Delux + Palm
6GB Corsair RAM
i7 920 CPU

I have yet to select the video card.

I am looking for a recommendation on a PSU - how big do I need to support 2 vid cards, either Crossfire or SLI? I want a PSU that is quiet and a good price point. I don't want to spend the money for a 1200 watt PSU if I don't need it. Will I be fine with a 1000watt or is that still overkill and I will be good with a 750 unit?

I will not be using water cooling.

I am also looking for a recommendation on an nice, but inexpensive case. The thing will be under a desk, still visible but not a center of attraction.
 
Id say a solid 750w should be just fine unless u plan on using 2 4870x2 in crossfire x or 260/280gtx in sli. Also depends on ur cpu overclock. Just do your research and you'll be fine. As for cases, i cant really help you b/c im into all those led fans and what not. I personally like the Antec 900/1200, Nzxt Tempest, Lian Li. As long as it has good airflow and enough room for your needs, you cant go wrong.
 
If you want a straight answer on which PSU to get. I would suggest the OCZ EliteXstream 800w or the 1000w. The reviews speak for themselves, single rail design and will offer plenty of power for future upgrading or a demanding SLI/Crossfire rig. Also with OCZ's recent take over of PC Power & Cooling, you know there single rail PSUs have good engineering. As for your case it is really a personal thing. I look for good airflow, good reviews and plenty of room for my components so they get good ventilation. Cooler master's centurion line is a good value case IMHO (check out the 590). If you would like more airflow you should check out the Antec Nine Hundred, or the more rugged looking Cooler master HAF 932 (more expensive but very silent due to its huge 230mm fans running at a low RPM). Hope this helps.
 
I do plan on OC'ing the CPU but will not use H20.

I may run dual 4870's or 260's so I guess I need to not cheap out. I was hoping I could get by with a 750 or less but it sounds like I may not have enough head room.

I also don't want to get a new PSU and then find out next year or so when the upgrade bug hits again that I need to purchase another new PSU.
