PSU cables question

I am now using a Corsair HX620 modular 620w psu and do not like the cables as much as my ultra x-2 modular psu 550w.

If I used one or two of the cables from the ultra modular PSU (especially cause they have some cables that are more eficient for my needs than that of corsair, would it work? Or would this be a serious bad idea...are cables well, cables for PSUs and u can use a differant modular psu cable without any worry?

thanks

It should work fine as long as the same type of plugs for the same thing, molex, sata ect are the same on both modular cables and the psu.

The connectors for Corsair PSUs are not the same as those for Ultra PSUs. Using an Ultra cable on a Corsair PSU would be difficult (since they don't use the same physical connector) and if you somehow managed to jam it in there, the pin-outs are probably different and it could be unsafe due to possible shorts.

What about the cables don't you like? What changes would you like made?

my 4 case plans which have 4hole m/f connector are powered by multiple corsair cables while the ultra i only used on to power all 4, most of the corsair cables have additional power inputs on them that i dont use so they just take up more room and make air flow less efficient.

i know im using more cables to power the same amount of equipment than i did with the ultra, hmm...
i think i will just have to play around with the way im powering my components right now...and if i cant minimize the cables, work to hide them better.

the ultras had more cables that went to component with one input, instead of a cable with multiple power inputs which was nice. like power to one SATA hard drive instead of a cable with 4, which would be nice for me cause i only use one SATA hard drive for example, and the extra length is just taking up space.
