psp countdown

i cant decide between Need for speed(played it at gamestop and it looks AMAZING)

Both of those games got abysmal scores. If I were you, I would stop myself from buying rehased PS2 games and concentrate what excuslive games that PSP is offering instead.

Lumines, Mercury, Smart Bomb, Untold Legends these are games to consider. Not games that you can play on your PC or PS2, not to mention, not mobile friendly.
 
Lumines and Metal Gear Acid I am definately getting. Wipeout Pure is on my considered list.
 
noone around me is having a midnight sale except MAYBE blockbuster since that is the last place i have left to call.

if they arnt, im skipping school on thurs to drive around and get one. hah

i already have a 512mb memory stick in the mail, and i plan on getting thug since its so easy to pick up/play and you can almost always do something new.

This reeks of hype-toolery. Why, praytell, are you so excited about this system? Is anybody going to really need to walk around playing PS2 games, listening to music and watching videos, for a whopping 3 hours before the battery dies?

maybe want to, not need to.

and you probaly want to read up on the psp battery life, you'll probally only get 3 hours if you have a-doc or infrastructure wifi on, with full brightness and volume up on a 3d intensive game, if not youll probally get alot more than 3 hours my friend. but me personally will probally not even play a handheld for more than 3 hours at a time without breaks or pauses, im not that much of a couch potato. :p
 
i still need another $50 for the rest of the prepay and only have $24 in my bank account for food for the next week :cry: i have a few older games for my xbox i can trade in but dont know if it'll be enough. hopefully they will be though.

Does anyone else know what shops will be open till midnight? I pre ordered at gamecrazy. Guess I`ll call them in the morning.
 
Fuck i hate how all the canadian retailers are ripping me off with the you have to buy a bundle packages. I just want the fucking PSP and 2 games I choose not some bundle BS. I got twisted metal which I will keep but im going to have to sell wayne gretzky at ebgames and buy lumines and hopefully mercury will come out soon and maybee something other then racing and a sports game.

You'll need the bundle. Buy a PSP and 2 games, you can't save anything without the memory card ;)
 
I preordered mine a couple months ago I think, but I still have a dilemma.. Should I get the PSP before work and leave it in my trunk, knowing that I have it but can't yet play it? Or should I wait till after work but be impatient and itching to leave (moreso than usual) all day?

I got my wipeout fusion on thursday.. it's been sitting on my desk mocking me all week. I want to get a gig stick too, but I won't be able to afford it after I get my PSP, at least not for a few weeks. I'm really hoping someone'll port MAME over to the PSP, though. Would be sweet to have a bunch of oldschool games to play on the PSP, and the gig stick would allow for a huge number, too.

I also saw some pics of Twisted Metal.. think I might get that soon too, plus it has online play, so people all over the country can kick my ass. :p

Cept, Metal Gear has nothing to do with its PS2 counterpart...

The reason most people seem to hate it is because its a strategy game. Seems to be under the "love it or hate it" category. The only review I've seen is IGN's, and they don't rank too highly on my "sites I trust" list. To me, they're the Gamepro of online publications :D

If you wanna talk rehashed, Untold Legends is just Champions of Norrath under a different name. Not that there's anything wrong with it.
 
Our store recieved the first shipment of PSPs (~250 units) so I was able to play around with it yesterday and it was awesome. I'm definitely grabbing one for myself :D
 
i can hardly wait anymore.....mine should arrive here at work tomorrow at around noon, which is roughly 22 hours from now. no waiting in lines. i got a bundle pack from ebgames.com w/ untold legends, T.H.U.G 2 Remix, and tiger woods golf...plus an accessory pack. i ordered a 1GB memory stick from bestbuy.com which should ship tomorrow ($151 after tax and stuff).

anyone waiting in lines tonight/tomorrow morning in madison, wi? anywhere else for that matter?
 
i work at gamestop, i don't think we are having a midnight sale, but i'll find out when i go in tonight. if i'm lucky i'll be able to snaggle mine out tonight when we close. i'm gonna buy untold, lumines, and wipeout pure tonight as well.

Just ordered one tonight for pick up tomorrow, at Mediaplay here in Pittsburgh. They had over a dozen spots left for preorder, and no crappy bundles - i just ordered the starter kit for $249 and will look at the games tomorrow. Was surprised i could still get one this late in the presale though.
 
ebgames.copm has confirmed that my bundle shipped....will be here tomorrow.

I have one preordered at a local EB. They didn't make me buy into any of that bundle crap. I bought the PSP for $249 and then NFSU:R which I have sitting next to me right now.

I have mine pre-ordered and they only got sixty in. They had a total of 71 preorders which leaves 11 of us including me without one. I'm number 67 on the list. Have wipeout pure in hand and won't be playing it tomorrow. :mad:

Some techs are horrible, others are decent. It depends on how they are at the BB near you, but the actual job is fairly easy, so I say go for it and apply.

Alright, I'll give it a shot :D

But by tech support horror stories, I didn't mean problems with the techs, I meant having to deal with users that are complete morons. You know...like the "My coffee tray just broke off my computer" or "The gas pedal isn't working" or "Why won't the credit card slot take my card?" folks...every had any complete morons, or are those pretty rare these days? :D

yeah, but honestly you get that everywhere. Whether it's at a retail front, doing service calls, or online, newbies exist everywhere.

Plus at GS you get to play around with everything. They let us "test" out the PSP so they could use it as an opportunity to sell GS services (since PSP has wifi)

WOOOOO!!!! Just won $80 in poker tonight at a friends house so now i have the money for the psp and maybe a game if i can find anyother games to trade in. :D
