how are you changing your passwords/.

Yea, I've seen a few others say they changed their passwords. PSN is still down and until it is back online you can't change your password so how are they changing it?

Email passwords. Not PSN.

A lot of us set up PSN password one time and never log in again.

I can speak for myself when I say I'm not sure whether I used an identical or similar password for PSN in comparison to the email password that is linked to PSN.

OK, I always use unique passwords for everything which is the best method. I write them all down in a notebook too so I don't forget them.

I can see the fallout of this mess starting to take shape. I know a couple of people who have actually bought new Xbox 360s... I wouldn't characterize it as entirely being due to this drama, but it definitely acted as a catalyst towards them making their decisions. Others are going to be more circumspect in the future when it comes to buying new stuff on PSN and would think twice about using their credit card there again. I really do wonder how much this is going to hurt Sony.

While I don't have a PS3 I answered for my brother and a friend. Both have cancelled CCs, opened up 90 day watches on their credit, and changed e-mail passwords and passwords for anything tied to that e-mail account.

I view pirates as criminals so I'm not going to go there but here's where the self destruction really begins: If Sony is going to talk tough and act all bad ass...how about not having such an obivously bush league network setup to begin with?

The stuff we're reading about what a pathetic setup they were running defies belief.

There's NO excuse for a huge conglomerate company that's supposedly serious about all of this to be running the kind of bush league setup they were now both their PC and console sides of the coin. Now gamers on both sides of the coin are affected and vulnerable.

Paying for live kind of sucks, but after sonys piss poor response, underwhelming compensation, policy on indie games (super meat boy, for instance), treatment whitehat hackers and lack of exclusives (cod map packs), I'm really getting tired of it.

I really like my ps3 and most of my friends have ps3s, but this whole situation has reminded me why I stayed away from Sony products for as long as I have.

I think it's about 43 bucks for a year off amazon. Sure, thats a whole lot more than free but for 12 months it's not that bad. I just picked up a slim to play battlefield with my buddies and it's a pretty awesome service imo.

True, Sony should be doing more to re-earn trust. They are keeping the information too close to the vest right now.

Super Meat Boy isn't on PSN because they signed a contract stating they would not release the game on PSN. Meanwhile Team Meat signed a deal to release the game on the Wii, and then never did. Shows you how poorly they manage things...

Well if CoD is your thing, this is true. Overall Sony has more exclusives.

Yeah Sony did a shitty job with communication of this whole thing.

Thankfully all I had on my PSN account was an old email, a unique password to that PSN account, my name, an old address and birthday on the account. Didn't make any purchases so no credit card info stolen from me. Not like you wouldn't be able to easily find out personal information such as name, address and birth date with just tiny bit of research on the web.

Not worried. However, working at a large name bank I've found many customers coming in to cancel existing, and order new, debit cards because of this situation alone.
