PSA: Borging Tip. You gotta read this!!

For anyone/everyone living in a dorm. YMMV

Ok so today was a busy day so I out for most of the day. My roommate's rig has already been borged so he knows all I have told him about Folding@Home. This guy from my floor comes over while I am gone for something and he sees my naked boxen (for pics, take a gander at the farm pics thread).

Naturally, he asks wtf was I doing with a naked boxen running. My roommie, being the kickass guy he is, tells all he knows about Folding@Home and GET THIS, THE GUY IS SOLD AND LEAVES ME A MESSAGE TO COME AND B0RG HIS MACHINE.

So the PSA of the story here is:

1) Display your naked boxen in all its glory if you want ppl to know about FAH
2) Get a great roomie like mine.

That is all, [H]orde grunts. :D

I have this policy, and it works. Everybody whose computer I've helped fix has agreed to run F@H. And since their computers are almost invariably faster than mine, it's a big points boost for me. :)

I've been doing this for a while now, and it works wonders! Most people are pleased to know that "they're doing their part" because they can promptly forget about doing anything else to help the cause. Still, at least it's something...

 
hmm... i'm going to fix a dell 1.9 ghz box today... borgy borgy borgy (grabs chef's hat)

only 256 mb memory and XP, so no big wus. 5.04 client tho, if they'll let me. (install, that is)

dunno how much the computer is on tho, they turned it on again after 1 week and the disk was dead. thus, i'm fixing it. eh, it'll fold. (i hope)
