PS3 to PC controller and Xbox360 to PS3 controller?

I've google some sites and I noticed that you could change your the PS3 controller as PC joypad just by installing software. If you use the software to register the controller with the PC, is the controller fine again to be used with the PS3? Assuming that I use a USB cable to connect between sixaxis and pc.

Second, what about Xbox360 wired controller to PS3? I've seen some sites saying you need some adapter while others say it works perfectly. So I'm guessing all controllers are interchangeable and does not damage the controller?

I use motionjoy with my PS3 controller on my PC and it works fine. Works great with emulators. And I was able to use the controller back on my PS3 afterwards.

I remember a while ago, I bought this adapter from Fry's to hook up my PS2 controller to my PC to play some games. It didn't work out too well and the controller was never the same again with my PS2 system. Seem like it messed up some circuitry or something in my controller so I was hesitant to try it on my PS3 controller, but this isn't the case.

My PS3 controller is fine. I don't know what happened to my PS2 controller though. Input wasn't responsive. It was a standard wired PS2 controller that came with the original fat PS2 system.
