ok so i setup up my ps3 in my router forwarding these port: TCP: 80, 443, 5223 and UDP: 3478, 3479, 4658. UDP: 3658 should also be opened for voice chat.

and put the ps3 in DMZ and forawarded those ports through the modem still in nat type 3?

Connected right to modem and got type 2, Any ideas?

if your router/firewall supports UPnP turn it on and you should not need to forward any ports.

Netgear WNR2000 and its already enabled, i did change the modem to bridge which seems to have worked, but everytime i have problems with the internet, we get bitched out about our modem being in bridge, from out isp

I would leave the modem in bridged mode, in its default setting you will be double nating stuff, which can cause some fun issues as you've seen.

So I'm guess after putting your modem back into bridge mode everything seems to be working?

dont double NAT

provide the relevant information we need to help you

the router type is good info, but what "modem" are you using? what type of internet service?

i had to do zero port forwarding or configuring for our ps3.

^ I already got it working, just for kicks though, ITs a Zyxel 660-F1 from Centurylink/CenturyTel/Embarq.... DSL
