PS3 disc drive speed...

When I play COD4 I barely hear the disc spinning in the drive, but I popped in The Darkness last night and man was it loud.
The PS3 kept accessing the disc and it seemed like it was struggling or something...

I was wondering if this was normal on everybody else's PS3's...
 
Mine only gets loud or somewhat loud when cd's are scratched up bad and it can't read them. My Silent Hill DVD movie does this at around 50 minutes into it :(. Other than that it works just fine.
 
The media is in perfect condition... it's was just loud last night when the PS3 was hot... hmm... anyone else?
 
Possibly COD4 caches to the local HD and then it reads it there were as The Darkness doesn't cache on the hard drive and streams it directly from the BR Disc. Just a thought.
 
That seems like the most likely answer... Well now I have other worries... stupid food poisoning...
