PS3 changing dashboard color

I know this may seem like a dumb question, but humor me here. :D

I have only owned the PS3 a few days, when I turn on the console and I get the "dashboard" it has always been black up until today. Now it is green.. does this thing change color as it chooses?? I know the PSP you have control over your dashboard color. I am not sure how PS3 works, since I cannot find a place to change the background color settings

This obviously isn't a big deal, I just want to make sure something isn't wrong with my TV or something, lol! :D
 
On PSP it changed depending on the month unless you altered the settings, but since it is the middle of april I dunno what might be happening. Does it have the correct date/time set?
 
Like the PSP, it changes color depending on the month.

However, the PS3 also changes color depending on the time.
Night = Black
Morning/Afternoon hours = color of the month (In April's case: green)
 
yea the ps3 changes color by time of day, by day of month, and by month of year....if january is red and february is green, january 15th it will be redish green, it slowly fades everyday to the next months color, and whatever the color is for that day it slowly fades into black as the time gets later into the day
