All you PS3 owners out there will be prompted to download the 1.54 firmware update the next time you fire up your console. The 100MB update allows PS3 owners to use any USB video class compatible camera with their console and gives owners the ability to resize the camera image to match screen size.

The image of the person you are chatting with during video chat can now be changed to match the screen size. You can now use a USB camera compatible with USB video class (UVC) for video chat.

yay!! i have a reason to turn on my ps3 which has been off for past 4 weeks hehe :p

Since I don't plan on buying one and i don't keep up on general game news too much. Did they ever patch the ps3 so you could play guitar hero and II on it?

Don't think so. USB Adapters for the system are STILL a big mystery. Personally, I want one that lets me use my Tekken 5 arcade stick with Virtua Fighter 5. Supposely, there are a few 3rd party adapters that do this, but the only place to buy them is Ebay with little or no information about them available.

As for playing PS2 games on the PS3 with an adapter, ALL the adapters I've seen indicate they are for PS3 games ONLY. So Guitar Hero is still a pipedream on a PS3 as far as I know. :(

with regards to Guitar Hero compatibility...Nyko (I think) is making an adapter that will allow you to hook up the GH guitars to the PS3 and use them without a problem. If I remember correctly they were planning on coming out in either March or early April...and the guesstimated price at the time was $15.

I'm not sure if that was $15 for one adapter or if it will be something like a USB splitter.

The whole issue is that when you play a PS1 or PS2 game, (for whatever reason) it will ask you to press the "PS" button on the center on the controller to resync it.
