PS Dying?

This is the most bizzare thing that's happened to me in a while. I got home from work this evening and woke the computer up. I had to go take a piss or something and when I got back, the computer was on a screen that said my RAID0 had died. I rebooted the machine and it came up in Windows and then it bluescreened. After that I started to panic, it had been a long time since I backed it up. I pulled the side of the computer off and checked the cables. After that it came up in windows, again, bluescreened, again, and told me the raid was dead. Again. Just for the fun of it, I pulled the power supply that originally came in my x-qpack, hotwired it, and hooked it up to the hard disks. That fixed it. I was able to back it all up to my little box. I'm still using the big computer now, hooked up with two power supplies.

Anybody had this happen to them?

I run two 74gb Raptors in RAID0. The power supply is a Ultra X-Connect 500W. Here are some camera phone pictures of the backup in action:

Wasn't the first revision of those Ultra PSUs poo pooed by some of the gurus around here?

[EDIT: Yeah if it's an X-Connect it's suprising it's lasted this long before starting to die. According to several people here it's actually made by a company called Youngyear and ... well .... they suck.]

Get a new PSU, check out the stickies for good quality brands.

I guess that I will have to. The power supply powered an FX-55/6800GT/2gb system, 2 raptors, and the pump for nearly two years. It ran for four or five hours last night on two power supplies without any problems. Didn't try any real intensive tasks, though. Just ran all my backups and did web shit.
