Well, upon reading my new issue of Maximum PC, in the Athlon64 motherboard review they say that the AOpen board has some sort of circuitry protection so if you plug in a PS/2 device while running it won't short your motherboard out. Is this true? I know that Maximum PC has made some moderate mistakes in the past, but is this for real? And if so, do most motherboards have some sort of protection against it?

Hypothetically PS/2 is not hot-swappable because the ground pins do not make connact before the hot pins. In pratice, however, this is rarely a problem. YMMV

I've got an Aopen AK77-333 that won't recognize the keyboard unless I unplug it and plug it back in during POST...weird, may be the keyboard, but it works :)
