proxy Software for ICS routing

I usually don't post here often because most of my questions are answered from searching, however this one has stumped me.

Problem/Objective: I want to route my xbox traffic through a proxy (socks4/5). I have a standard Linksys 4 port router and a PC running windows XP.

I don't want to spend much money on achieving this task. My idea is as follows:

Install a 2nd NIC onto my PC and then hook the second NIC directly into my xbox via Cat5. From there use a routing/proxy application to route all traffic coming from second NIC to a proxy of my choice without changing the traffic coming from the OS of the PC itself.

I'd like to know if anyone has had experience with this and if so what software applications would any of you recommend to permit this kind of traffic routing using windows.

I want to make this as simple as possible, but if a simple solution cannot be done, I'm open to suggestion.
Thanks,
Daskro
