Ok - I'll explain the situation and what I want to try to do.
I work at a school in the UK. There are 4 network rooms of 30 pc's and a teachers pc. I want the teachers PC to run a proxy server (probably just Analogue X's Proxy software) so that the teacher can turn internet access on and off for the class (i.e. just by starting or stopping the application). I've tested this basic setup and it works a treat.
However, the pupils have roaming profiles. When they log off they have the last proxy server they used in their profile. This is no good as I want each the pupils to have a different proxy server (i.e. the teachers PC) for each network room.
I thought about using a script to set the Proxy server using netbios names. Does anyone have any idea on how to do that?
Or, does anyone have a "better" solution to allow teachers to manage internet access for a class?
