Prototype XBox case

Hey guys, new here. I'm working on a prototype Xbox case, similar to the picture below. Anyway, before I start, I was going to ask you guys a few questions. I'm new to case modding, but not extremely new. I've done XBox modding before working with a dremel, which is what I'll be using to cut this (or a motor-powered saw in my woodshop at school).

So, a few questions:
How thick of plexi should I use for this? I'm using black acrylic.
How should I hold each faceplate together? I was thinking some brackets and nuts and bolts with countersunk screws, visible from exterior.
I'm putting both my Xbox 1 and Xbox 360 inside of this case. Is it possible to link both to a 350w PSU along with a few other accessories like LEDs and a router? I have the conversion kit for Xbox mobo to PC PSU.

Everything's going to be put in a tray within to minimize screws and air it out. I'll post up some plans after this post, but here's a preview of it's size:

  3. 160GB modded HDD with Xbox Media Center
  4. Modified DVD drive
  5. Xbox 360 stock with 20GB HDD
  6. 5-port router

FYI acrylic can be a real bitch to work with, and be sure that if you have defects you're either able to purchase more acrylic or live with it.

But good luck, intrepid modder! That first image looks sweet and if it turns out anything like that, should be awesome.
 
That looks dang cool, and here's a BIG tip. If you're going to be cutting acrylic in straight lines, score said line with a razor like 4-5 times and then snap is by hitting it karate style against a hard edge (think desk edge or the like)
It'll make working with it much easier and snap to straight lines quicker.
Otherwise, the bandsaw in woodshop will do the job just as well.
 
Alright sounds good. Does that razor trick really work with say, 3/16"? I'm thinking about getting that thickness since it's like not too thin but not too expensive. But I'll probably just go with the bandsaw, leaving like a good 1/16" away from the line, then carefully file.

The DVD drives are going to pop out of the top legs of the X's at that 45' angle. Replacing heatsinks, big 92mm Vantec Tornado (4800 RPM, 119 CFM!, 56.4 DB), arctic silver 5. Red or White LEDs, Rocker custom modded jewel in the center with both power buttons underneath, press left of jewel for Xbox 1, right of jewel for 360.

Pumped to start, need some patience for this. Do you think it is possible to get a half-sphere like black acrylic shape to make that center jewel more interesting? I can't find it anywhere...

Anyone know if this acrylic cement will work well or should I just go with screws and brackets? Actually I'll probably be able to use this stuff to glue in the trays... no need for screws for those then!
 
Personally I would look for local waterjet cutting services to cut your acrylic. It's all going to depend on what you would settle with and your budget.
