Pros and Cons of HTPCs?

The only thing I find wrong with most of the HTPCs I use is just laziness. People complain about poor picture quality, but then they show me what they used for hardware and I just turn away in disgust. If you use an ATI All-in Wonder card from 1998 to drive your "HTPC" then you deserve a horrible picture. Separate the inputs and the outputs and most of the picture quality issues will go away. But, I assume 98% of you know that.

Exactly correct. Power on Xbox, to go Videos, go to the HTPC Share, and all the mpeg's are sorted by date.

do you need to have a mod chip to use xmbc? Can it stream audio as well?
