Hello guys,

I just got a new megahaelms and it included some thermal paste. Do you guys think that will be better to use or my Arctic Silver 5 from 3 years ago?

I usually use Shin-Etsu paste, which is a little better than AS-5, but ran out and had to use the paste that came with my Megahalems. The difference was literally 1-2C. You more than likely won't notice any difference between the two, so use what ever you pick up first.

sounds good to me. I'm assuming the age of the arctic silver 5 is not an issue?

As long as it was kept in a dark, cool spot it'll be fine. You might have to push the plunger up and down a few times to remix the components in case they separated, but it will be otherwise fine.

I just used the paste that came with the Megahalems, one review I read had them within a degree of each other and within a degree is barely measurable, so whatever.

Me too, it works just fine.
