Would using a projector as dynamic backligth for a LCD look good or look like crap ?

Imagine a full hd projector and and a full hd lcd monitor, you strip the original backlight from the lcd, put something thin and white in it's place, like a peice of paper or thin plastic that the projector can project on, maybe even some of that projector screen stuff that is made for looking from the other side, it's projected from one side, you look from the other side.

Then you point the projector at the back of the lcd so they match exactly in size in the viewing areas, and then you clone the output from the lcd to the projector, so they show the same, creating a dynamic backlight effect.

Would prolly create alot of ghosting in fast paced games, but for 25fps movies maybe it could work.

And imagine all the settings changes you could make, change brigthness, gamma, hue and everything on BOTH :D

And build it into a box so the light doesnt spread, like a projection TV, the distance from the projector to the screen is small as the projector only needs to blow up to 24" inch or so, which also makes it brighter.

Wouldnt it be as dynamic as it could get, after adjustments ofcourse. :D

I wondered about it when trying the AG removal soak trick on my 7" DPF (which now looks awesome ) and wondered about making backlights, but I dont have a projector to test it out :p

What advantage do you imagine this would have over regular rear-projection? Adding an LCD seems like it would just add cost and reduce overall brightness, with no real benefit.
