Projected Augmented Reality Tabletop

wow, this is starting to actually look as "good as the movies". Just taking this same system with a higher resolution camera system + more precise physics simulation and it'd legitimately be able to clone a "real life" version of the Star Wars Holo-chess, or multitude of other fantasy scenarios, in a level of complexity that is imagined by the depiction, not just an obvious knock-off of the idea.

I think we still have quite a ways to go but it's great to see some progress on this. I agree that if they can perfect it, get some high res cameras in there, then get some low latency capturing devices and it will be pretty sweet.

Yes. 3D chess would be pretty neat. If they could package up the 'projector', and a checkerboard system in a box /w the projector using usb for a price point of like $19.99 /w a manufacturing cost of $9.99, I'd buy it. It would be cool playing chess with a 3D board using virtual peices versus a real board. Especially if it simulates the enemy peices and lets you 'see' your opponent like they showed in video. The 'collabaration' since Chess can be a poker-like game where you can read your opponent/what he's planning a bit by where he's looking. Or is he faking you out...?
