I am not sure want to name my case, so if you guys want to name it when its done go ahead. This is the final case that I am making for the current hardware. It is going to be out dated soon so it will live its live as my bedroom theater and game pc. I wanted SFF for space reasons, but it still needs to be 1337...I hope

Former location of USB and headphone jack will now house 3pos fan switch. I really wanted to put an LCD here, but I have a better plan for that later.

It cut ok but definitely not straight...so put your necks back in the upright position before you get a cramp. Thank goodness for belt sanders!

After some rinsing under hot water and a little dremel polish it back to new again. BTW ketchup really does clean copper I wasnt just being completely weird.

Yep it does work, but that pic is after I polished a bit with the dremel. If you just had some normal tarnish it would polish it right up..

the katchup trick was enough to make me subscribe to this. ha ha. looking interesting so far. donno where you're gonna put that huge Res though in that itty bitty shuttle.
 
You guys really like that whole ketchup thing huh? I thought that was a more well known trick. The radiator is is a Black Ice Pro II that will be mounted vertically on a sperate stand next to the case with two 120mm fans. Probably overkill but it is what I had from a previous build.

Oh and to be fair this case is quite a bit larger than a Shuttle case as it is still mATX. I will have more pics up tonight.
 
Well I got a tad side tracked on the PC work today, but still managed to get some stuff acomplished.
It is a little off topic, but who cares.... I was at work today and they were throwing away some office furniture so I scored these two heavy duty wooden filing cabinets. I thought man these would make a good desk. Stopped and got some 3/4 plywood and some 1x3's and now I have a cool case modding desk.

It will have two fans of course and it will sit next to the case. I will be working on the stand tomorrow.

Got a little more work done last night. I need to get some supplies today then hopefully I can do finish up some of the loose ends.

I used one of the spare 5.25 drive bay covers to mount the fan controls on.

Thanks morpheus....its not my bike. I spend entirely too much money on my Cobra to have a bike and keep my other vehicles. FYI its a 600RR with some goodies.

On to the updates....

I have never worked with acrylic much and after a few experiments discovered that JB Weld works pretty good bonding acrylic. Its not clear, but doesnt look bad at all.

I got this little sctoch brite looking thing with my dremel and tried on a piece of the res leaves a nice etched look. I am not sure if I am going to paint some of the res or leave it clear.

More to come so dont forget about me. It has been a little slower going than I thought but I have been changing my mind on things as I go along.
 
I hope that wont be a problem. I wanted it to be easy to fill, and the res to be the highest thing in the system. Hopfully this doesnt give me much trouble.
 
I got another update. Things are moving along and everything seems to be taking shape. I have hit a few snags along the way but nothing crippling yet. I am hoping to have this near completion towards the end of the week but I am not making any promises.
Final fitting of the res. Seems to fit nicely and there is plenty of room.

It is nice to have full acces to the entire case befor I put the top on. It will also be easy to acces all the hose clamps to ensure I get them on tight. More to come so hang in there.

I will be finishing up the big peices soon. The next obsticle is wire management in this little case. I have some ideas so we will see how everything pans out.
 
yeah, its gonna take some clever management of those tubes to let a gfx card fit in :eek:
 
I think the pics are a little decieving. Room will be tight but it will work. I am still pluggin away at this thing and will post pics soon.
 
Excellent work so far, I really like how you mounted the res. What tubing size are you you using - 1/2", 7/16", or 3/8" ID? If you are using 1/2" ID I highly suggest using 7/16" as it is much more flexible and offers no performance loss (unless your loop is like 15' long, which will not be the case for you at all).

I am using 1/2in and you are right. I would have rather used 7/16 but I already had this setup in a different case so I just wanted to use it. It is going to be tricky to get the houses right but I pretty sure it will work.

I have some updates but no pics yet. I will post a big update before the weekend is over. Thanks guys!!

Ah, I totally understand. If you do have problems routing the current tubing though, I highly suggest purchasing some 7/16 tubing for mcmastercarr. You can get 15 or 20' for like 15$ shipped IIRC. Plus, it is less likely to kink...in a cramped setup the last thing you want is a tube to kink and not know it.
 
Who is finally ready for some updates? Now in hindsight I would have loved to have used smaller tubing and a different cpu block. One that was just in and out. It has tested my soul and it is still not quite done. I have to finish the rad and make sure nothing leaks. I also have to put my hose clamps on as well.

I know the wire management isnt the greates either, but I seriously just ran out of room. I still have to put in the sound card, and I would like to put at least of case fan somewhere. I was thinking I could mount a 120mm on the top of the case blowing down inside with a good fitler. This may help keep the dust from being sucked in. I also thought about just have a large vent on top with a shroud and just setting my rad on top and let is suck out the air from the case.
 
Now that you took the top support bar off, as you can see the case is bending. Try not to push so many cables/tubing against the cd drive cage so it doesnt bend like that. the outer shell isnt very strong and the clips will bend if you ever lift it up, and those three ATX screws in the back sure as hell arent strong enough, especially with all that water in there.

i would also go ahead and invest in another CPU block or convert all your fittings to 1/4" and go with a different pump. is that 1/2" now? even 3/8" would be better!
 
GJ ON THE KETCHUP.

Looks good so far. I want to see how this goes, as I might be watercooling my next rig (its going to be small form factor, not sure which case to go with yet). I will be checking back on this one.
 
Bad news everyone....
I got everything put together and jumped the psu so I could fill the system, but when I turned it on the pump did nothing. I tried every molex and every line, but my dvd drive would spin up and the CCFL's turned on but no pump. I emailed FrozenCPU about an RMA and I hope that they dont play games with me on this. Seeing as this has happened I am putting this project on hold. I am going to sell off all my current watercooling stuff due to the size of it all. 1/2in tubing fit in this case but was too much. This MB also allows for minimal OCing so all that cooling would have been a waste. I am going to put togther a smaller WC system, and get a single 80mm or 120mm rad instead of the dual one.

I am also about to build a media server with dual Athlon MP1900's and about 2TB of storage. This is actually a bit higher priority as well. Until next time.........
