hey everyone,

this is gonna be my first major mod. i;m gonna do my best to put a PC in a VRC case.
i;m still in high school so i;m not gonna have much time to work on this thing..probably just on the weekends. ohh while i was working on this thing, cutting a piece of plastic to make room for the DVD drive (it;s the old, really long ones) and i should have cut away from me...you can guess what happened...cut my thumb pretty bad, got 9 stitches at the emergency room. so this thing is gonna be on hold even more.

well there's all the compoents. the new case and the old case with all the hardware.

what gonna be inside

a 1.8 p4
mobo asus p4b-lx
32mb nvidia tnt2...i think (wouldn't be much better)
256 ram (would you look that that...)
and i think that;s it...300w psu

hehe... more cuts will follow. Got any gorey pics? I'm a biologist so I'm always getting wierd pics of stuff. You would be surprised where mold might grow sometimes.

Sucks about the cut, but good luck on the mod anyways!

To the above, it's spelled weird, unless you see plants on wires lol!

did you happen to buy that PC from a local school? Mine just sold off a bunch of those for pretty cheap.

no it was my main rig until i built a new one last summer. i had 4 nice years with him. but it;s time for him to retire. and for the gorey pics...if i;m allowed to post them then i will. but i won't until i get the okay from the moderator. i really don;t want to get kicked off the forum for posting stuff like that. thank god i can still type.

my school does have a lot of dell opitex that they might be able to sell to me.

they didn't give me the okay but i guess they would have to delete the pics.

i just hope it doesn't get infected...it;s acutally not as bad as it looks.

my 3 year old brother looked at it and started to cry...it kindof reminds me of horror movies where the killer just randomly sews up their victim for no reason.

Ouch! It looks disgusting even in small size pic, not going to enlarge the pic! Thats why you got to be extra careful when using long old knifes. Hope your thumb get better soon!

your doctor did a great job!! No redness either. Just keep lots of neosporin on it and flush it with water. You will be modding again in no time.

yeah this week has been hell...just back from tennis practice and my thumb is hurting really bad. i want to finish this mod, but my dad is pretty mad about me starting that mod and cutting my thumb in the first place...if you are asian you know how asian parents are!

Yeah I know how they are :p. $10 says your dad has already planned out your future profession right? LOL

Anyway man, good luck on this mod.

I've heard of body modding before, but I don't know if cutting the end off your thumb counts... or really should be in the "case modding" forum. lol

Super glue and a band aid...string chip off the lathe cut my finger to the bone a couple of weeks ago......I opened it...looked at the bone...kinda yellowish....filled the cut with neosporin, superglued the skin and put on some bandages.......quit hurtin about 4 days later........pretty much healed with in a full week.....and it is cheaper than doctors......:D

That makes me think of the movie finding nemo. "dude, you got serious thrill issues." As a microbiologist... seriously... I could name about a million things why you should NOT have done that. two words. Staphylococcus aureus. things that go with that? LOTS. septicemia followed by a focal infection at worst. That is some crazy stuff.

Guess my immune system is pretty sound.......if all the crud I got in wounds when I was in the army didn't get me, a hot piece of steel(piece of 1018 bar that the chip had turned blue as it peeled off the work piece) cutting me to the bone was sort of anti-climactic.....and as I packed it with neosporin before super gluing it shut.....(did use medical super glue):D so no thrill issues, just crack up when people go to the doc for something like a broken toe.....and they say.....yep...you have broken toe. that'll be $300.00:p

yo damn...taht makes my thumb feel a lot better

danny bui: sorry but you are WRONG!!!...they planned it all out...but since then given up on that dream because after during my freshman year (last year) i got a B+ in math...."ohh my god my son is a failure, he asian and he take B in math...what the hel?!?!?!" and that's the exact quote....no joke.

Looks tasty! You'll never make that mistake again. Safety First!

Best of luck with the VCR project.
