os: gentoo_x64
Storage access via ftp/nfs/samba over gbit lan

Im not using any raid/jbod variations. For data thats needs reduncancy i have multiple offsite backups and since im using pretty nice indexer, havnt feelt need for unified partition. In the end, for movies/series/some_other_stuff raid is overrated :p

looks good but could use little cable management work :p

nice work !

but i think you should clean your cpu heatsink, it looks dusty in the last pics.

tnx
cleaned heatsink as i could in 4oo at night, now getting it out means new dismantling ... so, screw it :D
for now ...
maybe when i move to narco ;)

seems like this is one of the days when with one tt isnt enough,
so decided to make second box from spare parts around,
getting GigaByte GA-M61P-S3 back from rma, have old amd 4600+ and few spare sticks of ram ... so making box will be easy, need few extra 1t drives and tt2 here we come

huh
havnt posted here a while ... :)

so, the updates
robbed TT ... and made its little brother:

yeah i know, its freakin dusty, but not going to clean them any time soon :p

future planed updates:
adding 8p controller and 8x750 to MH
and 2x 750 or 1000g to TT

on side note: does anyone know if Supermicro AOC-USAS-L8I will work/fit in ordinary pcie 16x?
isnt it meant only for UIO slots?

Christ, looks like you need a Norco :p So what are you using all your storage for, movies? Are they HD or something?

sad about norco
im in europe, eastern ... :D
getting norco here is a freakin pain in the ass, and thats mildly put
in the end, if you position norco vs chieftec + 2x cm bays, its like 350eu at least vs 100 ;/

on MH, maybe :)

super bump here, as I stumbled on your thread from a google search while troubleshooting a Samsung HD103UJ drive issue...

The Supermicro AOC-USAS-L8i card *will* work in a regular PCI-e slot, however the "bracket" that hooks into the chassis needs to be replaced in order to have it mount properly.

I am using the card, along with 8x Samsung HD103UJ drives + FreeBSD + ZFS for my fileserver :)
